How tough it is to crack UGC-NET JRF exam for Psychology?
How tough or easy you perceive the exam depends on your preparation. When you are well prepared the exam will look easier to you than when you are not prepared.
Now what is the meaning of preparation here?
Decoding
Preparation doesn’t only mean how well you have studied but also depends on how well you have decoded the pattern of UGC-NET entrance exam and the syllabus of it.
Strategy making and organising
After decoding now you have to make a strategy to crack it. Here your strategy will include how to study, which topic to study from where and in what depth. You will need to organise topics and its content in your mind and in the form of physical notes so that they can be referred for last moment revision and even for the preparation of next attempt.
So these decoding and strategy making part goes simultaneously while you are studying.
You need to give a clear space in your house/room/study table for the material that you will be required to open at once. As you will be opening past year question papers, reference books for particular topic, stationery items, papers or more books for notes making (I prefer loose sheets as it is easy to add or remove your next additions to it later on).
I am sure it’s going to be hectic but it will be worth it.
Make sure you use your past notes, college notes, etc extensively while you are preparing for UGC-NET entrance exam. Self made notes are much more likely to be stored in your memory than other’s notes.
But before making notes you need to make extensive syllabus.
Make extensive syllabus
Find out the keywords from the syllabus and question papers of UGC-NET entrance exam Psychology and write them down in the syllabus that you have. Now you know that you don’t only have to prepare for topics mentioned in your syllabus but also those topics that are not mentioned in syllabus but have come in entrance exam. This is how you make extensive syllabus for the topics that you have to study and make notes of. UGC-NET JRF Psychology Entrance Exam Syllabus (NEW)
Start making notes
What type of notes you will make will totally depend on the subject or topic and your degree of grasp on it. So you will need to make comprehensive notes for topics that are new to you or you have not read them strongly ever. But you can make revision notes for topics which you are very much clear with.
For instance- in the general psychology subject if i am thorough with the topic ‘learning’ then I will just make revision notes like the main concepts of theories, names of important personalities, and other important features.
On the other hand if I am not thorough with topic of perception then I will have to read it from one or more than one book, take the help of Internet, and make comprehensive notes. The focus here will be on concept clarity first and then writing it down in my own language along with important or exam relevant information.
Solve question papers
You must simultaneously solve past year question papers or questions from any competitive exam book. This will help you test your knowledge whatever you have studied so far also this will build your confidence level. Not only this you also get to know what kind of questions come in exam from particular topic.
This part is very essential as it makes you exam ready.
Choose book
You must choose the books cautiously. Choose basic books first for each subject as a base book and then go for other books for the topics that you either can’t find in your base book or you can’t understand from the base book.
Below is the link for the basic book for main subjects.
